Michael A. Aguilar — President
Michael A. Aguilar is
President of Five Tool Group, Inc. He is an experienced special event
transportation management executive, with expertise in level of service design,
project planning, contract management, public agency coordination and
operational implementation. He has been responsible for the design and
implementation of numerous successful major event systems, the production of key
event communications strategies, and the effective recruitment, training and
management of event workforce.
Michael is also experienced in the production of strategic documents for
government and private sector clients, having written the transport
chapters of the Russian Football Union’s successful 2018 FIFA World Cup bid, and
the City of Ekaterinburg’s World Expo 2020 bid. He also
consulted to the Brazilian Olympic Committee on their successful 2016 Summer
Olympics/Paralympics bid, the City of Glasgow (2014 Commonwealth Games) and
the City of Edinburgh (2011 International Military Tattoo).
Michael is a skilled communicator with experience representing organizations to the
International Olympic Committee (“IOC”), the Olympic Council of Asia (“OCA”),
National Olympic Committees (“NOCs”), various International Sports Federations
(“IFs”), Special Olympics, Inc. (“SOI”), media organizations and government officials at all levels throughout the
world. In December 2013, Michael was a Subject Matter Expert at an Education
Session ("From Contract to Curbside: Ensuring Event Transportation Success") at
the International
Association of Exhibitions and Events annual meeting
- Expo! Expo! - held in Houston, TX.
Active in his community, Michael serves as a Member of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police
Department’s ("Metro") internal Use of Force Review Board and served for 6 years on the
independent Metro Citizen Review
Board. He is also a Commissioner on the City of Las Vegas’ Traffic and
Parking Commission and a Member of the City’s Traffic Signal Capital Improvements Advisory Committee.
In 1995, Michael graduated cum laude from California State University, Bakersfield, with a Bachelor of Arts
degree in philosophy. He was the Outstanding Graduating Senior in Philosophy & Religious Studies. Michael gained
valuable teaching experience while doing graduate work in philosophy at the Ohio State University. He is a member of
Alpha Chi, the college scholarship honor society.
Michael served on the Sports Management Advisory Board of the School of Business & Public Administration at
California State University, Bakersfield. He is the author and designer of this and several other web sites in the
